Chasing the last light.

Two photographs from February: an open, sunlit square in Colombo and the last warm light on the shore at Mirissa.

The Colombo photograph is all lines and rhythm. A tiled roof rests above a long row of columns, its warm colour set against the blue sky. The open ground gives the building room to breathe.

At Mirissa, that geometry gives way to water. The waves catch the evening light; palms soften the edge of the beach. There is less to name in the picture, and more space simply to look.

This small pairing follows the archive from city to coast. A change in light, a change in pace, and two very different ways of remembering Sri Lanka.
